My Favorite Teacher Was Also A Mentor

A close friend gave me a lovely compliment the other day. She admired the fact that I have been sticking with my writing routine (because she’s been watching these).

I have to admit that documenting this journey is pretty much the way I’m keeping to that promise. They say, find someone to hold you accountable. Well, this camera is doing the trick. Also, I have the time, even though I usually complain that I don’t. Let’s be real; there’s always time if we’re willing to give something up.

Once again I need to give a shoutout to one of the most important people in my life – Mrs. Kramer, my eighth grade English teacher. She is the teacher who opened my life to writing. I need to find her someday to tell her how much I appreciate her.

I'm blessed. Most of my professional career, almost 20 years, I've spent as a journalist. Some of it was in print, a little in television, but most of it in radio. I've worked with some wonderfully talented producers and directors in those two decades. It would take pages to elaborate on all of the experiences I've had as a reporter, producer and host. Needless to say they include opportunities talking with leaders of state, religious leaders, civic leaders, writers, artists and entertainers. The last couple decades have been a lot of fun. But, the next couple decades will be far better.
