Thought I’d Give You A Taste

OK, so I’ve been talking about this book I’m writing, but I haven’t shared much of it. So today I’m going to give a wee bit taste. Hear for yourself.

The novel is an adult thriller. My protagonist (whose name I’m withholding for now) has just finished college and is offered a job as a newspaper reporter in a mid-size city. The editor happens to be an old family friend.

Our character takes the job with a great deal of reluctance. Many years before our heroine wanted nothing else but to become a reporter. Then a tragedy struck, and that dream died just as she was going to college. So why, if she didn’t want it anymore, would she take this job? And where was this decision leading her?

I'm blessed. Most of my professional career, almost 20 years, I've spent as a journalist. Some of it was in print, a little in television, but most of it in radio. I've worked with some wonderfully talented producers and directors in those two decades. It would take pages to elaborate on all of the experiences I've had as a reporter, producer and host. Needless to say they include opportunities talking with leaders of state, religious leaders, civic leaders, writers, artists and entertainers. The last couple decades have been a lot of fun. But, the next couple decades will be far better.
