Keanu Reeves And Mozart Inspired Me

Movies can inspire me. I realize now; the opera also inspires me. This weekend I did both.

Saturday night, instead of going out and socializing, I pathetically stayed home alone. So I put on some Hulu, and the first thing that popped up was one of those older movies that I want to love but find myself frustrated watching, The Matrix Revolutions. Yeah, it’s a movie that had its moments, and there was so much room for improvement.

Then on Sunday, I went to the opera. It was Orchestra Miami’s Mozart’s, The Magic Flute. I’m not the biggest opera fan, but I want to be open to new experiences. And this was my third ever opera. It was inspiring, the numerous characters and the poetic dialogue.

The lesson of the day, find inspiration anywhere.

I'm blessed. Most of my professional career, almost 20 years, I've spent as a journalist. Some of it was in print, a little in television, but most of it in radio. I've worked with some wonderfully talented producers and directors in those two decades. It would take pages to elaborate on all of the experiences I've had as a reporter, producer and host. Needless to say they include opportunities talking with leaders of state, religious leaders, civic leaders, writers, artists and entertainers. The last couple decades have been a lot of fun. But, the next couple decades will be far better.
