Remember Your Favorite Childhood Reading?

During my childhood, I would’ve preferred to spend more time playing and pretending then reading. But it’s not to say, I still loved to read when I found something that kept my attention.

One of my favorite series as a kid were the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Looking back now the writing is silly but when I was young it was just so much fun. And like you (admit it) I did cheat every time I read one of those books.

There was a point in my career where I thought I could write a series like the CYOA. I’ve always wondered how they put together multiple stories into one block. Did they use outlines? Did they write a bunch of stories and just overlay them? For the next podcast, I’m gonna find out.

What were your favorite books growing up as a kid?

I'm blessed. Most of my professional career, almost 20 years, I've spent as a journalist. Some of it was in print, a little in television, but most of it in radio. I've worked with some wonderfully talented producers and directors in those two decades. It would take pages to elaborate on all of the experiences I've had as a reporter, producer and host. Needless to say they include opportunities talking with leaders of state, religious leaders, civic leaders, writers, artists and entertainers. The last couple decades have been a lot of fun. But, the next couple decades will be far better.
