Who Wants A Magazine?

I feel like Captain Kirk. Captain’s log, stardate 529.904, and I found more old stuff stored away in my closet.

Yes, I’ve been busy digging up old things. And the latest treasures include a collection of old The Writer and Writer’s Digest magazines. I didn’t realize how long I’ve had them until I scrolled put on my reading glasses to see the tiny print. Some of these go back to 2010 or so.

Which of course leads me to wonder, are they still useful? Is the writing advice they offer up to date? One of the magazines has a list of the publishers looking for new writers. I haven’t done any investigations, but it might be cool to see which of those publishing companies or agents are still in the business.

I’d imagine though, some of the writing advice is still good. I don’t need any of these mags anymore though. Listen to the podcast to find out how you could get some of them if you’d like them.

I'm blessed. Most of my professional career, almost 20 years, I've spent as a journalist. Some of it was in print, a little in television, but most of it in radio. I've worked with some wonderfully talented producers and directors in those two decades. It would take pages to elaborate on all of the experiences I've had as a reporter, producer and host. Needless to say they include opportunities talking with leaders of state, religious leaders, civic leaders, writers, artists and entertainers. The last couple decades have been a lot of fun. But, the next couple decades will be far better.
